Meet Henry, our beloved resident and the neighborhood’s feathered celebrity, who has graced our address for an astounding 13 years. Fed and cared for by our friendly neighbor, Karen, who runs the BnB “Bed & Breakfast Amsterdam” next door together with her husband Paul (here a link to their website!).
Because of Karen, Henry starts each day with a fresh fish breakfast. You’ll often find him strutting up and down the sidewalk or perched gracefully on a nearby car or street lamp, right within view of our window. Sometimes, he even takes a moment to relax and digest on the balcony below, offering a rare and intimate glimpse of his majestic presence.
The streets of Amsterdam belong to them – the magnificent grey herons! With an impressive wingspan of 175-195 cm and a weight of 1-2 kg, these adaptable birds have seamlessly embraced city life, captivating our attention with their presence. Around 5000 of them roam area of Amterdam!
